Reading & Literacy – Genre Focus: Newspaper articles
I hope you have enjoyed writing about elves and sprites. This week you’re going to pretend to be a journalist writing a newspaper article. In today’s lesson, you will practise reporting information using direct and indirect speech; this will help you to write your article on Friday. Later during the week, you will review how to use direct and indirect speech and the use of speech marks.

Topic: Environmental Science and the Industrial Revolution
Today I would like you to access another lesson on environmental science. This lesson will explore how energy is produced – it is really interesting. You will be learning about how power was historically generated and the rise in the use of electricity throughout the industrial revolution, which is a topic you should have learnt about during the Summer term. This led to huge advancements in humas’ capacity to power our world. We will learn about non-renewable and renewable energy and consider the pros and cons of fossil fuels.
