Reading & Literacy – Genre Focus: Non-Fiction

This week in Literacy you are working through a new booklet released by Pie Corbett called: The Ultimate guide to Elves and Sprites. The purpose of the activities is to help you revise how to write a report or information text. At the end of the week, you will be writing an information text about Elves and Sptites. Please complete pp.19-27 today. I would really like for you to share your final piece of writing with me over the phone next week.

MATHS

This week, you will need to access Summer Term – Week 11 on the home learning White Rose page. This week’s focus is on reflections and translations. In the two first lessons, you will look at regular and irregular polygons, as well as 3D shapes to revise what you know about their properties. Then you will move on reflections and translations, which is about identifying reflected shapes or objects between a mirror line and recreating a reflection of a shape on a quadrant. To access the activities that go with each day’s lesson, you will need to click on the BBC bitesize link on the right side and then click on Year 5/P6 to access the activity of the day.

Topic: Friday Art

In today’s art lesson, you will reuse the sketching techniques you have developed last week to create an abstract art work. The word ‘abstract’ means that what is represented does not have to be something real.

PE – MUSIC

Have you looked at our PE and Music Blogs recently?

Every week Miss Durrant sets PE and sports activities for everyone to try at home.

Mr Postles posts videos in which he talks about learning how to sing and play music, famous composers etc.

You can access these two blogs by clicking on PUPILS section and then on PE or MUSIC.

Have a good weekend,

Miss Berglund
